Football Bingo
Use the bingo cards with the football words in the target language, the teacher then says the word in english and then the student crosses it off!
Flag Colouring
Get your students to colour in the flags of some of the World Cup countries and label them in a different language. Can they say the country name in French, German or Spanish?
Goal Song
Learn to sing “Olé, Olé, Olé” together and add simple football words in each language. Clap along to the beat!
Secondary
Match Commentary
Students pair up and commentate on a short clip of a match in the target language. Encourage use of key vocabulary and present tense narration.
Country Profiles
Each group researches a competing nation and presents a poster in the target language covering geography, culture and star players.
Chant Creation
Students write and perform a short football chant in French, German or Spanish. Great for practising pronunciation and rhythm.
