Welcome

Languagenut has been designed to support the delivery of World Languages and ELL / ESL and is used in schools, libraries and homes all over the United States and globally. Covering 24 units, with songs, stories and games, Languagenut unlocks the business of learning languages in a way that is rigorous, progressive and fun.

Aware that the teaching and learning of a new language can be something of an overwhelming experience, Languagenut is as child-friendly and accessible as it could possibly be. Using song, story and eight tried-and-tested game formats, we have created a site that is time saving, engaging, rich with virtual resources and, for adults and children alike, wonderfully stress free. Engagement is assured through the personalised learning experience brought to life through avatars and the earning of medals.

Games

Children love learning new words and linguistic concepts when playing games. It's fun, teacher-light and, when linked to the rigor of progression through the years, incredibly valuable. With over 1400 words and phrases per language, many Languagenut games can feed into class projects.

Songs

Songs What is true of games, is also true of song. We all know that children possess prodigious gifts for memorising and manipulating content through song. Relating songs and rhymes to appropriate levels of learning, Languagenut makes provision for these gifts in a way that is easy to access, present and teach. Hear a Spanish song now

NEW Stories!

Storytelling - or narrative context – has always been one of the major cornerstones of good classroom practice. This is especially true when it comes to learning a foreign language, where repetition is a core aspect of the learning experience. Stories create a context. They make things meaningful. Laced with humor, with pathos, they surprise, they satisfy, and they create in the listener a love for words. Interested, challenged, children actively seek out the repetition in stories, making the task of building up word banks, and of improving pronunciation, something to look forward to, something that is practical, concrete, fun.

Teachers say...

"I’ve been on your website for the past hour and a half!!! I think it’s absolutely great! The colors/pictures are perfect for the age group. I always teach with games because I’ve discovered that students are more receptive. I also really like the component for teacher materials, where we can download printable worksheets. (it cuts our work in half) Teachers love having one central network for materials. You have my full recommendation! Great job!"

My school has used Languagenut.com in the Lower School Spanish and French classrooms for the past couple of years as a form of review and practice. When we finish a certain vocabulary unit, we will either use the program as a whole class on the Smartboard or I will ask the students to sign into languagenut.com using the school login. When I say we are going to use languagenut, the students often “ohhh and ahhh” because they enjoy playing everything from hangman to tic-tac-toe. One of the most unique features of languagenut is that there are so many languages to choose from! I appreciate having access to Languagenut and recommend the program to any school language program.

Tracking

The new tracking tool allows teachers to track and reward student progress. Its a major addition to the site, and makes charting achievement a doddle.

The way it works is simple. Teachers create a class list, print student login details, then track, reward and feedback. Take a look at the video tutorial to get an overview. The tracking tool could save you hours!
