French and Spanish Middle/High Downloadable Resources!
World Health Day is coming up on April 7th, and this year’s theme, “Together for Science” is the perfect opportunity to spark curiosity in the language classroom. The campaign encourages people around the world to recognise the power of science and collaboration in protecting the health of people, animals, plants, and the planet.
While major global events such as the International One Health Summit will bring scientists together on a huge scale, teachers and students can take part too. This year’s message invites everyone to celebrate scientific achievements, explore evidence‑based thinking, and understand how science shapes a safer, healthier future.
To support this, we’ve created a set of engaging language‑learning resources that bring science to life through French and Spanish. These are perfect for KS3 students, as they combine new vocabulary, use of inference skills, and photo description tasks. There are also accompanying vocab sets on Languagenut that can be used in class or for homework.
If you’re looking to create a lesson more closely linked to the idea of healthy living, then we have lots of resources on the platform for you to use. Here are a few ideas:
- In our Primary Guided course, we have ready-made Spanish and French lessons on “Balanced Diet” (Year 4, weeks 4-5)
- Our Primary vocab sets on healthy living and health care are available in multiple languages, and can be used with all our engaging vocabulary games
- For Secondary students, we have vocabulary sets on topics such as:
- Body parts
- Illness and injury
- Bad health habits
- Sports
- Healthy eating
- Looking after mental health
We also have sentence building activities and exam style tasks on various related topics.
World Health Day is the perfect moment to show learners how languages connect with global issues, from scientific discovery to health, collaboration, and the One Health approach. These resources make it easy to link classroom learning with the wider world, while keeping activities simple, engaging and curriculum‑friendly!
